1800 Reposado is the rested expression from 1800: 100% Weber blue agave tequila from Jalisco, aged in oak and bottled at 40% ABV. The brand rests it in a combination of American and French oak, which is why the wood influence reads as both sweet vanilla and drier toasted spice.

Reposado is defined by that barrel time — between two months and a year by law — and here it produces vanilla, oak and a warm, toasted finish sitting over the agave rather than replacing it. Next to the silver in the same range, it is rounder and less peppery, and easier to drink neat.

Use it as a sipping tequila over ice, or as the base for a tequila old fashioned where the oak has something to work with. It is heavier than a blanco in a margarita, which some people prefer and others do not; if you want a crisp margarita, use the silver instead.
