Crown Royal is a blended Canadian whisky at 40% ABV, distilled in Gimli, Manitoba. It was created in 1939 as a gift to mark the royal tour of Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, which is where the crown-shaped bottle and the purple bag come from.
