Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky at 40% ABV, distilled in Dufftown by William Grant & Sons and aged 12 years in a combination of American and European oak casks.

Single malt means a whisky from one distillery made entirely from malted barley — as opposed to a blend drawn from many distilleries — and Speyside is the region known for elegant, fruit-driven whisky rather than heavy peat smoke. Glenfiddich 12 is the textbook example: pear and green apple fruit, vanilla from the American oak, light malt through the middle and a clean finish. There is no smoke.
