Style guide
One Category, Several Very Different Styles
Whisky is easier to shop when the major styles are separated by how they usually drink, not by specialist language.
Canadian whisky
Often a comfortable choice for whisky and cola, casual pours, and familiar home-bar orders.
Bourbon
Usually richer and sweeter in profile, useful for cocktails or sipping with a little ice.
Irish whiskey
Often chosen for a smoother, easy-drinking pour that works well in mixed groups.
Scotch
A more distinctive direction when the bottle is meant for slower tasting or gifting.
